Frequently Asked Questions

Are Line Relaxing Treatment injections safe?

Line Relaxing Treatment has been successfully used to treat patients for a variety of conditions for over 15 years. Allergan has done extensive testing of Botox® (the treatment that we use) and deems it safe to use for cosmetic purposes.

Do the injections hurt?

Line Relaxing Treatment injections may sting initially but the pain is short lived and the results are worth it. Juvéderm® ULTRA fillers have a local anaesthetic in them so pain is minimal, just a small sting initially. We will offer you a cold pack to try to reduce discomfort and bruising prior to injection.

How soon will I see results?

Line Relaxing Treatment takes between 3-4 days to see results and can continue to improve for up to 1 month. Juvéderm® fillers show immediate results.

How long does it last?

Line Relaxing Treatment lasts approximately 4 months, but studies show that with repeated use, effects can last up to six months. Juvéderm® ULTRA fillers last from between 6-12 months.

Where does the drug go after it wears off?

Because Line Relaxing Treatment is a natural, purified protein, it gradually gets absorbed and processed by the body. Juvéderm® ULTRA reacts in the same way and is gradually absorbed but this takes longer (up to 12 months).

Will I need time off work?

No you can return to work immediately following treatment.

What makes Juvéderm® ULTRA different from other dermal fillers?

Juvéderm® ULTRA is the only range of dermal fillers with local anaesthetic incorporated into the gel to ensure a more comfortable experience.

What precautions should I take following treatment?

Full advice will be given during treatment and a comprehensive advice sheet will be given out following treatment for you to take away and consult. A few key things are: no alcohol for 24 hours following Line Relaxing Treatment, on the day of treatment; do not lie down for 4 hours post treatment, no rubbing the treated area and no exercise following treatment.

Can Line Relaxing Treatment be used to treat smile lines?

Line Relaxing Treatment is not licensed for use below the eyes so Absolute Beauty would not use Line Relaxing Treatment in these areas. Dermal fillers would be used instead with excellent results.

Are there risks with Line Relaxing Treatment injections?

Yes there are risks and side effects, but due to the semi-permanent nature of Line Relaxing Treatment, these risks are normally temporary. During the consultation phase of treatment all risks will be explained and you will be able to make an informed choice regarding treatment.

Who injects the Line Relaxing Treatment and fillers?

Fully qualified registered nurses, with specialist training in non-surgical, medical treatments.

Who is suitable for treatments?

Almost everyone is suitable. A medical history will be taken at consultation and your suitability for treatment will be assessed then. People who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not have Line Relaxing Treatment or dermal fillers. Line Relaxing Treatment and filler injections should not be used in the presence of infection or if the client has a known sensitivity to any of the ingredients. Patients with disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at risk of serious side effects from the Line Relaxing Treatment injection.

Can Line Relaxing Treatment and dermal fillers be used at the same time?

Yes, sometimes to achieve the best results for your face both may need to be used.

If I discontinue treatment what will happen?

If you do not keep up treatment your face will go back to its previous state.
